THEATRE IMAGING

PLEASE NOTE: I'm here to assist and guide you as a tutor NOT to do your work for you :-)

Do you need help with understanding Theatre Imaging?

The fact that I commonly get a lot of questions from students about theatre imaging is also one of the reasons why I came up with the idea of tutoring. I have asked a lot of students how they feel about theatre imaging and I get the same answer all the times, that if only we could get more time to be taught about theatre. I know that the operating theatre (OT) can be a confronting new environment for student radiographers. The best strategy for dealing with this problem is to take every possible opportunity to practise your operating theatre techniques. To help you along the way I can share  and discuss with you tips that you may find useful. Not all of these tips will be applicable to all theatre situations.

I can help you in the following ways:

  • Understanding your role in theatre

  • some of the common Dos and Don'ts

  • Understanding of  some of the common mistakes and how to avoid them when positioning

  • How to approach some of the most commonly performed examinations in theatre

  • Understanding positioning considerations and radiation protection

  • Understanding some of the safety considerations in theatre
